The main objective of the book is to probe the link between Russia’s foreign and energy policies. However, energy security is a key element in Russia’s national security is analysed systematically and coherently. The book stresses the geo-strategic and geo-economic location of the Central Asian region and how this region has been able to deal with the Russian energy companies in transporting their oil and gas energy to the European market. This region has maintained relations with Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Belarus and the influence of these countries on the energy sector is vividly described.
