New Delhi: The Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses (IDSA) has been ranked 31st amongst the top think tanks world wide (non-US), as per the Global Go To Think Tank Index Report 2014. It is the only Indian institute to have appeared in the top 50 this year. IDSA was positioned 54th last year.
In the sub-Asian region ranking in which India is listed with China, Japan and Republic of Korea, IDSA retains its position at the 10th place, thus placed amongst the top 10 in the sub-region. The Institute has consistently maintained its position in the Best Government Affiliated Think Tank list at 23rd position. IDSA also figures in the list of Think Tanks to Watch at 20th position.
The Institute has also made a consistent presence in the list on Best Use of Media (Print and Electronics) at 27th position. On the whole, The Institute has an impressive positioning in the latest report.
The index is designed to identify and recognize centres of excellence in all the major areas of public policy research, which can be used by academics, journalists, donors and the public to connect with the leading centres of the public policy research around the world.
