India-Bangladesh relations, bogged down in mutual recriminations and mistrust for years, are slowly but steadily being transformed. Recently, the Bangladesh government publicly honoured a number of Indians for their contribution to the liberation of Bangladesh in 1971. Such a gesture was unthinkable a few years ago.
