Dr Jason Wahlang, is a Research Analyst, at the Manohar Parrikar Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses (MP-IDSA), New Delhi. His area of research includes peace and conflict, and foreign policy focusing on post-Soviet states particularly Russia, Central Asia and the Caucasus. He has published in academic journals and web portals. He has completed his MPhil from the Centre for Russian and Central Asian Studies at Jawaharlal Nehru University and his dissertation was on “The Role of Identity in the Rise of the Secessionist Movements in Russia: A Case Study on Chechnya 1991-2004”. He has completed his PhD from the Centre for Russian and Central Asian Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University. His doctoral thesis focused on the “Politics of Memory and the ‘Armenian Genocide’’’. He received his Doctoral Degree in August 2022. Before joining MP-IDSA, Dr Jason worked as a Research Intern at the Institute of Peace and Conflict Studies (IPCS), New Delhi and Research Assistant at the Centre for Land Warfare Studies (CLAWS), New Delhi.
